What happens to the people who can't afford to watch movies or subscribe to NetFlix, and spend most of their free time worrying about things like food prices, gas prices, utility bills, mortgages, rents, car payments and credit card debt?

What is their "metascript" exactly?

An increasing share of the population at large doesn't care much about entertainment or media in general, because they're too busy just struggling to survive.

Detailed analysis of media doesn't really address their priorities and concerns.

It fails to address the material problems of existence in a real world.

Most ordinary people don't have the luxury of spending many hours reviewing movies and TV shows to sift through them looking for symbolic or encrypted "messaging". They worry about paying the bills.
